Printed Matter presents the seventh annual NY Art Book Fair, from September 28 to 30, at MoMA PS1, Long Island City, Queens. A preview will be held on the evening of Thursday, September 27. Free and open to the public, the NY Art Book Fair is the world’s premier event for artists’ books, catalogs, monographs, periodicals, and zines presented by more than 200 international presses, booksellers, antiquarians, artists, and independent publishers from over twenty countries.

NEAR organise une journée de rencontres sur le thème du livre d’artiste, de sa conception à sa réalisation et à sa diffusion, focalisée en particulier sur les ouvrages consacrés à l’image photographique contemporaine. Une table ronde de réflexion est proposée au public en matinée, suivie de rendez- vous individuels entre artistes et professionnels du livre l’après-midi.

After the sensational success of the Nuit des images 2011, the Musée de l’Elysée is set to greet a large public once again with a festive event and unique program. Photography, video and cinema will be celebrated on the seven screens scattered throughout the museum’s gardens.
Fernand Baudin Students Publications – A Proposal, Brussels. Lecture
I will present two projects: Hard Copy and the Amsterdam Art/Book Fair.
First edition of a yearly event dedicated to students publications, this year will be an experimental, reflexive and prospective one – engaging students, teachers and “professionals” in public discussions and round tables dedicated to making and thinking editorial practices today. It will also be the occasion to think about events and structures around publications (book fairs, book awards, book exhibitions, etc) and to elaborate a proposal for the following editions of the event. Students publications will be exhibited, and discussions and round tables organized.

The second Amsterdam Art/Book Fair 2012 will present a high end international selection of art publications. The fair aims to reflect on the emerging practices and new development in art, photography and design, through a selection of publishers from all over the world. Printed matter and digital media edited by independent publishers and artists, magazines and institutions, art schools and graphic design studios will be featured in this second edition. Conferences and talks by keynote speakers, book launches, artist talks and performances will take place during the Amsterdam Art/Book Fair.
Teaching & publishing: contemporary art practices and Hard Copy editions
For the third year, I will be lecturer at Geneva University of Art and Design, where I initiated a publishing course and the artist’s book series Hard Copy. These editions are produced in collaboration with Barbara Fedier and various departments of the schools, as well as Swiss graphic designers and co-published by Monospace Press. This position also involves thesis supervision and organising events, lectures and exhibitions in relation to Hard Copy. The first seven edition were released in 2010, with a talk with Seth Siegelaub, Daniel McClean and Dexter Sinister, and reading performance by the artists at LiYH in Geneva. The talks can be heard back on the Laptop Radio website. The second edition were presented at the Amsterdam Art/Book Fair and the exhibition ‘vue sur la mer’ in Geneva in 2011.

Book Launch: Hard Copy 2011, Multiples, exhibition and performance
The book launch will take place on Thursday 30 June at 19.30 in Geneva, in the frame of the exhibition ‘ Vue sur la mer‘.
A new series of six artists publications, edited by Delphine Bedel and produced by the M.F.A. Work.Master/ Geneva University of Art and Design will be presented, along with and exhibition. hard copy is a project made in collaboration with Barbara Fedier/ Micro-Editions and Hervé Laurent/ Atelier Ecriture, and with seven Swiss graphic designers. The books are co-published with Monospace Press. The pre-launch took place at the Amsterdam Art/Book Fair on the 14th and 15th of May at de Brakke Grond.
