Photographer, curator and writer based in Amsterdam.
Associate Professor at the Dutch Art Institute in Enschede, and Visiting professor at the Geneva University of art and Design Bedel is also regularly lecturing on her work and curatorial practice. Considering art a form of alternative knowledge, her process-oriented artistic and curatorial projects explore different formats and contexts; she is interested to work from several positions as an artist.
Her current work engages different layers of representation of architecture, of leisure and cultural artifacts, and reflects upon shifting politics of memory. Her recent publication ‘All that is solid melts into Air-Notes on Tourism’ (episode publishers, Rotterdam 2008) is for her a platform meant to explore new forms of discursive and trans-disciplinary practices.
